Meet Our Dance Instructors & Faculty

JESSICA MCLAUGHLIN

Jessica started dancing at the age of 3 and danced throughout her entire childhood under the training of Shelley Tookey at Shelley’s Dance Company in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical theatre and Highland and competed all over North America in these dance styles. She examined in RAD Ballet, Brian Foley Jazz and Al Gilbert Tap exams as well as the Canadian Highland Dance Association exams and Arthur Murray International exams for her Ballroom and Latin dance training.

She was selected as part of the Canadian team who represented Canada at the Suzutan Cup in Japan for drill and dance team events and was a dance team member on the Edmonton Eskimos Cheer Team. Her cheer coaching was under the training of Dianne Greenough which then led her to coaching a top performing high school Pom/Dance team as well as the Junior Edmonton Eskimo Dance Program.

Jessica has always loved teaching and started when she was in her early teens. She has continued teaching since then both children and adults in many styles of dance in Canada and Australia. Teaching is her passion and she cares deeply for her students’ well-being and safety in all facets of dance and Acro training. She managed and taught at the Edmonton Arthur Murray dance studio as well as the Sydney, Australia location for over 14 years and was the assistant director of the Australasian division of Arthur Murray International running dance competitions and events.

She now runs and manages her own dance studio, Terpsichore Dance Company, on the North Shore of Sydney, Australia. Jessica has attended many dance competitions and conventions over her 35+ years in the dance industry and has learnt from many of the industry’s professionals. She has obtained a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management, a Diploma of Management, is a certified Rhythm Works Integrative Dance Instructor, a certified Acrobatic Arts instructor, course conductor & examiner, a level 1 certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor, a certified Glenn Wood Tap teacher and a member of the Australian Teachers of Dance (ATOD). Her studio was one of the first in Australia to be certified by Youth Protection Advocates in Dance (Y.P.A.D.) and she is a certified YPAD Instructor herself. She is always keen to expand her dance and Acro knowledge as much as possible and strives to always be up to date with current teachings in the industry.

Alexandria has been training in dance for 15 years studying a wide variety of styles, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and acrobatics. For over ten years she competed as both a troupe and soloist performer placing at national level eisteddfods such as Sydney Eisteddfod, Hollywood Bound and Sydney Tap Festival.

She has also performed in several productions with the Blue Mountains Musical Society as a Featured Dancer, including being a part of the Phantom of the Opera Pointe Corps and The Little Mermaid Tap Group. In addition to her dance training, Alex has also trained in both acting, for which completed NIDA's Actor's Studio course in 2019, and singing.


She worked as a student teacher/choreographer for 7 years before moving into a teaching position and is very excited to be a part of the TDC team!

ALEXANDRIA HINLEY

ALEXANDRIA HINLEY

Alexandria has been training in dance for 15 years studying a wide variety of styles, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and acrobatics. For over ten years she competed as both a troupe and soloist performer placing at national level eisteddfods such as Sydney Eisteddfod, Hollywood Bound and Sydney Tap Festival.

She has also performed in several productions with the Blue Mountains Musical Society as a Featured Dancer, including being a part of the Phantom of the Opera Pointe Corps and The Little Mermaid Tap Group. In addition to her dance training, Alex has also trained in both acting, for which completed NIDA's Actor's Studio course in 2019, and singing.

Krystelle started dancing at 3 years old in Far North Queensland, at The Graham Academy of Dance where she studied Classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap and hip hop. Krystelle achieved distinctions in all her Pre-Primary to Advanced 1 Cecchetti and RAD Ballet Exams.

When she was 8 she was the youngest individual to be awarded a Cecchetti Scholarship and the only individual to ever receive this scholarship twice. That same year she was also invited to appear in The Queensland Ballet’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs performing a roll as a flower. The following year, Krystelle successfully gained a position in The Australian Ballet Interstate Junior Programme and at 14 she was offered a fulltime position but decided to continue on with her education.

Upon graduating high school she moved to Sydney at 17 years of age and become a member of the Full Time Dance Programme at Tanya Pearson’s Classical Coaching Academy where she danced with the Sydney City Youth Ballet in productions such as Cinderella and The Nutcracker. It was during this period she was offered a teacher’s position where she help prepare students for exams with all scoring 70 and above.

In 2014 she graduated from The Australian College of Physical Education where she studied for four years and received a Bachelor of Applied Dance, Krystelle has also earned her Certificate 3 &4 in Fitness and is a personal trainer.

Annika Poeszus

Miss Annika has been training in dance for over 20 years. After graduating high school, Annika moved overseas to Mumbai, India, on a professional dance contract. There she featured in several Bollywood music videos, movies and tv shows. She has performed at large scale corporate events and weddings; some highlights include dancing in the Pepsi India Commercial and Student of the Year 2 film.

Miss Annika moved to Sydney to advance her dance training and gain further qualifications. She holds her Advanced Diploma in Elite Performance as well as her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is highly passionate about instilling a love and passion for dance in all her students. Miss Annika is very excited to be joining the TDC team in 2023!
